Runway Rasquachic™ Debut Collective 2026
Our Mission Statement-Runway Rasquachic positions sustainability as a cultural practice—where environmental responsibility, economic opportunity, and community identity are interconnected outcomes that center on the artist and creativity rooted in community care. Making a silk purse from a sow’s ear goes deeper than the practice of just making do; it demonstrates how that perceived sensibility has always been present as care for our communities. Runway Rasquachic honors the San Antonio influence and the term's birthplace. Coined by local fashion icon and vintage store owner Pilar Correa as a term she used to describe her own vintage style as not rasquache, but rasquachic. (Rasquachismo)
Runway Rasquachic is designer and cultural pioneer Agosto Cuellar’s new venture, inspired by his legacy with Runway En La Calle. Runway Rasquachic, the newest production by Haus of Augustine, Cuellar’s newly launched creative haus with Dr. Puente Para La Gente. Runway Rasquachic is an annual event featuring a collective of local designers, artists, creators, and cultural icons coming together for one night to showcase fashion in the streets, where creativity is born.
Haus of Augustine, is a creative production collective led by Cuellar and Dr. Puente Para La Gente. Haus of Augustine is excited to partner with our main sponsor The Esperanza Peace and Justice Center to bring the runway back in the calles. Now, an official Texas Fashion Week™ finale event, Guadalupe Street is transformed into an outdoor runway and creative marketplace featuring local designers, artists, performances, workshops, youth engagement, and scholarship opportunities. Leading the collective is Cuellar whose work has been featured in Elle Magazine and has shown his collection Barrio Folk Baroque at both New York and Paris Fashion Weeks in 2019. Cuellar was honored with the 2018 Cultural Pioneer Award from Texas Fashion Week (TFII), the 2021 Women's Wear Designer of the Year Award, and served on the boards of the Texas Fashion Industry Initiative (TFII) FGI and Say Si. Cuellar will return to Paris Fashion Week in 2026 to show his future collection, Rasquachic Revolution at Flying Solo.
